WAMENA TREKKINGWhether you want to go on a more adventurous trek to places where only few people have been or just explore the Wamena region – we can guide you. All you need is your curiosity and a pair of good shoes. We have started to propose a few treks and itineraries here on the following pages but please, see them as proposals only. If you have a specific interest, an idea, what else you’d like to see, just talk to us. We will be more than happy to tailor-make your personal trek rather than walk the same treks everyone goes. So start dreaming and imagine yourself right there in the center of Papua – our paradise. A few things about trekking in Papua:
Please bring sturdy shoes. The ways we will go are no „streets“, most of them are difficult and rough. It goes up and down the hills, so a certain state of fitness is necessary. But don’t be afraid, This is not Himalaya, not rock-climbing, not deep-jungle exploring. Trekking in the Baliem valley and around can be done by people of all ages and experiences. We can provide all the equipment needed for a trek but please bring your own sleeping bag (if you have), your personal medication (including prophylaxis for Malaria), a torch, camera and whatever you cannot live without for a few days. Remember: This is a very remote region of the world and not much can be bought on the way. Any further treks information (see down pages), or call us on Whats App: +62-8124-762-8708. |
